Just found out from our sound guy that Johnny Winter is going to play Sept 20th at our local bar, where we have played a couple of times. The place only holds 200. I am so stoked! I was lucky enough to see him in the 70's. Walking distance from home, stumbling back! Whoo hoo!

Love the guy! He's lucky to be alive, much less playing. Have fun!

Guitar World just did a great article on him, and the footage on the DVD rocked!
Enjoy in BC brother!
That sounds awesome, walking distance!

I've seen Johnny in the late 70s and again in the later 90s. He played great but you could tell he was ill, the last time I saw him. He's one of my many guitar heros from teenhood on. Long live Johnny. I would have loved to have seen him and Rick Derringer back in the early 70s. One of the first few albums I purchased as a kid with my own money was Johnny Winter and Live. I still have it and the cd as well. Enjoy him in concert while he's still around.

I saw him on June 20 here in Dallas at the Granada Theater. It was a great show, but he was a bit frail. He sat the whole show & had to be helped onstage. But he can still jam on the guitar really well!! I can't remember the order of the setlist, but here's some songs I remembered being played:
Good Morning Little Schoolgirl
Highway 61 Revisited
Mean Town Blues
Bony Moronie
It's All Over Now
Hideaway
I'm Tore Down
She Likes To Boogie Real Low
Black Jack
