Well, the last few weeks I have developed some serious GAS. I'm picking up a new D-18GE tomorrow. I got 40 percent off list and no tax! So, I couldn't help myself. I was especially happy to find that they calculated the price at $100 less than what is listed on the Martin site. So, I saved another 40 dollars! :smoke:

Heres the link to the Martin faq sheet, incase anyone is interested.

Ok...New pics tomorrow...I just have been busy and have had close to zero time. Tomorrow will be my 18th day straight with out a day off. Well, I did get off a few hours early last Friday, but I am not counting it! :rlol:

Mike...... you DOG! Man, you are going nuts... what a great grab man, I can't wait to see this baby!

I've had some GAS pains for one of these for sometime, I've been using the excuse that I'm not a Dread man for a long time... but I'm getting weaker

Can't wait to see it, and hear your review... those puppies are CANNONS!

After several weeks of ownership. I have to say that the D-18GE is a dud. NOT!!!!!!!! What a great guitar it is! It has all of the best that you would expect from a mahogany guitar and more. I bet a few rosewood backed guitar players would stand up and take notice!

It has a great bass note to it. But because, I believe the mahogany back and sides provides a louder, clearer mid and treble. Making it a truly balanced dred. Unlike most Martin rosewood dreds. To me, it is a POWERFUL OM X's 3! Sound wise.

The Adi top does what it said to do. Hard to break up no matter how hard one pounds on it. And responsive to a light touch, as well. This one will only get better with time. And is the best "all around performer," that I have. And I do have a few nice acoustics!

I guess, I am lucky. Hard as heck to fit into a small sports car, but have no problemo playing a dred. I am much more comfortable playing a dred, than I am in my 911! New sports seat on order! :D

Or you can load the 911 up on a flatbed, and ship it over to me. I'll get my fat ass in there some how

Really glad your loving your D-18GE Mike... did I ever have a doubt you wouldn't? Naaaaaaa... of course not

You know I'm not a huge Dread fan, but the D-18GE would be the Dread I would buy without questions. In my opinion, the Adi and Mahog combination is the best Dread combo out. They are just Cannons, and I think the best Dread Martin has made in a long, long time.

P.S. I'm currently on my hunt for a 30's Gibson L-00 :smoke:
