ive been real interested in playing the classic mississippi delta stuff, but im no good with a slide on a low action guitar, like my acoustics and electrics, but ive been told if you want to play delta slide blues, you want a dobro. real high action and a great sound. Ive also been told that a good thing is that, you can buy a cheap 100 -150 dollar dobro with tons of neckware and fretware and such, and have it be just as effective as a 500 dollar one, because you dont really need the frets! So im currently working towards getting a dobro, can anyone point me in the right direction for i am new to this area of the music industry!!

nothin but the blues

Just go to Musicians Friend or Elderly Instruments, you'll find plenty of Dobros. But, you don't need one to play slide blues. You just need an acoustic that has a high action, go into a GC, pick up some lower end guitars with high action, and you'll be set. I love playing slide, prefer open D tuning, I use an Epiphone Hummingbird that has a shitty high action that when you play fingers your tips go numb after an hour. But it's sweet with the slide. But Dobros are nice, Washburn makes some nice ones, Fender has a reasonably priced one, several other manufacturer's make them as well. Check out Elderly.
