Well to keep the night's questions going, has anyone tried a Larrivee?
I played one the other day and must admit i was pretty darn floored, incredible sounding guitars!
All wood, even wood binding.
Anyone here have/tried one???

I've never been able to play one myself. The regular models look really nice, but I can't say that their cutaways are all that attractive, much like Breedlove's cutaways. I don't care for that right angle.
What model were you considering?

The M one the smaller Auditorium or Orchestra version looks nice.
i think it is a 03M or some such, anyway they play great, have a good beffy neck and sound really good, and i can get a good deal on one from the manager at sam ash... but it looks like it will be an after christmas purchase

Hi Guys,
I have played (albeit briefly) a Grand Auditorium Larrivee and it was absolutely Fabulous. In my humble opinion it would certainly give Most of the more Familiar Brands a REAL Run For Their Money. The most impressive thing... "to my ears"...at least, is the Superb Response when played Fingerstyle. The Sound was so uncluttered, by which I mean the Balance between the Bass, Mids and Treble. On certain acoustics of a similar price I have found that whilst the Bass and Mids can be nice, the Treble Response can be a touch "zingy". This is NOT the case here and I was genuinely delighted by the Guitar. They are also remarkably good for all the alternative Tunings, still giving a really even response.
I have to say that I have played possibly 2 other Guitars that I would consider as being on a par with Larrivee...... But at HUGE Price differences.
A Friend has a Santa Cruz.....which is frankly OUTRAGIOUS; and he also has the Nicest Parlour Guitar that I have ever heard, made by "Brooke". These are both High End Exotica, but I feel that the Larrivee is more than worthy of being mentioned in such illustrious company.
IF I was still playing enough Acoustic to warrant one.......I'd be at the head of the queue.
