I wanna use it for the high strung ovation on Hey You and Comfortably numb. Any suggestion as to what strings would be best for this kind of tuning.

all the strings are all unwound. the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th strings are replaced with a high E, a High E, a high B, and a hich E respectively. all tuned an octive higher

you can get an unwound set instead, otherwise the guitar is going to sound very trebly , i think. also Elixirs are very nice sounding and the last forever....

well that's what I'm asking, do they sell unwound sets already? That's the way it's gonna be tuned. It's suposed to be bright sounding.:)

Buck...Blue book has the closest thing as a CC67, which indicates deep bowl, the 8 instead of 7 for this one would indicate shallow bowl. In good condition the books says $150, excellent is 250, 100% is 350. Made between 1994-96, last MSRP was $500.00.

Mine is the Legend, and I love it. Most of the lower end Ovations that I have picked up and played, I ran from...they just sounded like shit. I don't know where this one falls.

I like Ovations when plugged. Unplugged...Not so much. I'm sort of on the wall, on this one.

I stand corrected on the bowl...the book only lists the 67, calling it a deep bowl, their code for numbers indicates that an 8 would indicate shallow bowl...but the number system is confusing...like all guitars

Busk?
I'm almost certainly being rather dense (Birthday Bash whilst at The Gig last night) But am I correct in assuming that you are intending to use the Ovation in "Nashville" Tuning? (Octave Stings as on a 12 String)? Then Yes in answer to your question....Easy to sort out, make a Set Up based on the Octave Strings of a 12 String Set. I have done this before with great results. :smoke:

Yes grmupy, almost exactly like a Nashville tuning.

I'm not a big fan of Ovation, but at that price, I'd be inclined to go for it. I'd also be inclined to use Elixers for the longevity if you can find a set to meet your needs...
