Hey all, there is a Martin acoustic D16GTL model going for real cheap that I have been looking at and I mean reeeeeeeeeal cheap because, as you might have gathered from the model number, its a lefty.

Now this is a great model ie. solid spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, a real Martin.

I have what will be probably a very simple question for our Martin/Acoustic geniuses here ATTN: NTBT and co.

Can I string a left handed Martin, right handed and play it with any kind of success?

Thanks guys,

Cat

I don't see why not. As far as I know a guitar is only a righty or lefty because of which side the cutaway is on (if it's a single cutaway) and the location of the controls. If none of that bothers you, go ahead and get it.

Or change around the compensated saddle, if it has one.

It has no cut away. It has a slanted saddle but I dont know how you could change it round?
