When I was in my local guitar store a couple times this past week, I was looking at acoustics...I took five different Gibby acoustics off the wall, played each one never looking at the model.....the fifth one I played jumped right out at me....the tone was beautiful....playability outstanding...and nice looking to boot..looked at the tag.......the model;

I have to agree. The Sheryl Crow Sig. model is a great guitar! I love those Mahogany Hogs! Though I'd rather have her '62 Country Western that it is modeled after! Thanks for the GAS pains! :smoke:

That looks sweet. The pickgaurd is a bit odd but hey, what the hell.
I've never really played a Gibson acoustic. I should give them a go sometime. I think the $$ keeps me away, much like Martin....another I have yet to try out.

Hi...

well I didnt like it very much... put it away pretty fast...
I like better this J-100 (the baby-Jumbo by Gibson) which
is beautiful guitar for me...

Whenever I smoke other brands, and feel GAS coming on... I go back to playing these and remember why Gibson acoustics are my favourites.
I will have an OM or an OOO sized Martin one day, but I won't ever part with these.

There's a whole lifetime of memories in these three guitars - specially photographed for you 10 minutes ago!

It's beautiful... well and the J-200 no doubt about that one... that's my dream, but even the 100 is not very reachable at the moment for myself...
The third one's not that much my type of thing...
Congrats to these beauties.

What would you say is the difference soundwise between the 185 and 200.
The 200 has got LP-custome inlays... so it must be a one off unit, isnt'it?

If you get a chance to play the Advanced Jumbo from the Historic Collection do so. It's one of the better new Gibson's I've ever played.
It's the one on the right in this picture.

Played an AJ for a while. Really nice well-balanced tone with lots of brilliance. That skinny neck was as fast as a drunk honky-tonk angel.
Alas, ya can't keep 'em all. Guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse in the middle of an acute gas attack for a D-28H.

Does anyone have any experience with the Songwriter?
I was in a GC and a/the Gibson acoustic tech was there, restringing/tuning/polishing the guitars. He kept coming back to that one as his fave, short of the much more expensive models.
The super-jumbo body of my Taylor 815 is just a tad over the top size-wise and in terms of being able to just pick it up and play it casually. To the point that I'm even toying with the idea of one of the "stage acoustics" (Carvin, etc) as something much more electric-like in nature yet still fundamentally an acoustic...
Anyway, since this is a Gibson acoustic thread, I thought it'd be a good place to ask...
