I have only played a few short scale guitars. A Martin 000-28, Martin 000-28EC and I believe a Larivee 000 size (L series???). I am getting a 12 fret, slot head Martin, but it is still LS. (000-15s)
I found the playability a bit better due to less tension with the SS vs LS. Sound wise, it is hard for me to tell if there is an audible difference. Hard to find two like guitars, in the same place, to do an A/B test. It is my understanding that there is a bit less volume with the SS. But a bit "sweeter tone" compared to simular spec LS model.
In your opinon, "what are the advantages or disadvantages to LS vs SS?"
Which do you prefer?
