View Full Version : Dr Z Maz Jr Demo **vid**
I thought I'd make a short vid of some different tones through my new amp. I really like the way it sounds and you guys have developed a tolerance for my playing by now
I hate to keep putting myself in these vids but I hate it when someone makes an amp demo vid and you just sit there looking at the amp the whole time... I need some movement! (and all my hot model friends were busy :smoke: )
So, if you're considering a Z amp, maybe you'll find this helpful.

The vid is on a private setting so does this mean you have to give me permission to view it JCV?
Oh, sorry about that. I've changed the settings. (I thought I already did that)

Thanks Jason!

+ 1   ..............
Thanks John.
Sadly, the Maz Jr is now dead :WTF:
I turned it on tonight, let it warm up a bit then flicked up the standby switch and hit a chord. It was loud at first then just faded away to nothing. I checked my cables on another amp and they're fine. The tubes are glowing but no sound.
Maybe a tube got damaged during shipping? I think I might take a couple of el84's out of my GT and try them in the Jr... hopefully that's all it is.

HUH? Are you shittin' me?
I wish I was kiddin'...
I haven't messed with it yet - I didn't even check the fuse... although I doubt it's a blown fuse, it probably wouldn't have died slowly like that. I'm hoping it's nothing major.
Oh well, I'm glad I made the vid before it died!

Thanks for that :) and awesome vid by the way.
That little amp sure does, or should I say did sound nice. As others have said I hope its just a crook valve or something simple.

nice sounding amp! The Dr Z amp sounds a bit smoother than the demos you did with the Budda.
I hope the problem isn't too bad the Z.
Thanks guys. The amp is still dead but I'm working on it. Hopefully it won't be a big deal.
The Maz Jr lives!
Popped in the rec tube out of my GT and all is well. Plus, I left in the power tubes I tried earlier and it sounds better than ever!

Guys, this amp is the shit! The more I tweak it, the more I like it! I've tried a few of the settings on this chart http://www.a42.net/maz18/?sort=name and let me tell you, it's like a different amp on each setting.
I am getting some amazing tones from this thing. If you get the chance to try a Maz Jr, please do so
