So, my birthday's coming up. I think I'll ask for an acoustic/electric instead of the usual electric guitar equipment I normally request. Here's the one I'm thinkin' of:

Name Games (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/search/detail/base_pid/519293/)

So, how 'bout it? It's no Taylor or Martin ( so Erik doen't have to reply ), but all I need is a nice beater.

If I was in that range, and feeling... uh.. experimental...I would might try one of those Agile or SX acoustic guitars that Rondo sells. I have never seen or played one, but I would bet it would be just as good of quality, if not better, than the Rogue.

If I could add a few hundered dollars more, and wanted electronics, I'd go with a Dean myself. None of those cheaper ones are going to have Fishman electronics of course, but they will get you buy and like you said... a beater!

Experimental. Nice.

I checked out rondo's acoustic selection - besides that nice resonator, those acoustics are ass ugly. We'll see how it pans out.

LOL.. nah man. Please don't take "experimental" the wrong way, I didn't mean it in terms of the price of the guitar! I mean buying a brand name that you've never tried, and well, can't go try at a store. Both Rogue and Agile fit in that catagory... at least were I live! :)

The SX are made by Sammick... probably built almost as many acoustics for themselves as they have for Gibson Fender and most everyone you can name.
Check out Palmers Elect/ AC if you get a chance. really nice stuff.
